Catching up

Well kiddo, you keep me quite busy these days so I haven't had time to write in awhile! You are getting so big!!!! Daddy and I can't believe it! You are also forming quite the personality. You have learned how to fake cry. It is amusing. You also learned how to pout this week. It is too cute! You smile at us now too and we love it. You recognize us and will smile when you see us. I love that you know who your Momma is! Another thing you like is when Daddy lifts you up in the air and walks around the house. It is one of the only things that calms you down. It's amazing. I will have to get a picture of it! You are finally starting to form a schedule at night. You go to bed between 10 and 11 and sleep for 4-5 hours, eat, and then go back to sleep for another 2-3 hours. I can't wait till you skip that nighttime feeding! But I love you dearly! 1 month old!

You're Here!!

Well my sweet baby, you are here!!! I can't tell you how excited I was when your Daddy announced that you were a boy! You arrived on Friday, September 21, 2012 at 11:40 am via c-section. You weighed 7 lbs 11 oz and measured 19 1/2 inches long. I can't even describe the love I felt for you the first time I saw you! Your Daddy had the biggest smile on his face! When they brought you over to me so I could see you for the first time, you peed on me! Silly boy! Here is the picture we announced your arrival with on Facebook:

Your family was so excited to meet you. Along with me and your Daddy, your Mum, Grandpa Pratt, Auntie Shannon, Uncle Gary, and Justin were all there when you arrived! Although it has been an adjustment adding you to the family, I wouldn't change it for anything!!!! I love you, Caleb Ray!!!!!

36 Weeks

The doctor says you are growing at a great pace now! Even a bit ahead of schedule. That's my overachiever! You already are taking after your family in size! We went for an ultrasound to check your size and if the measurements are right, you would be around 9 lbs by your due date! Yikes! Here is the picture of you they gave me at the ultrasound:

What a cutie!!!! You didn't seem to like it though. The woman was trying to get you to face the camera and you were being stubborn so she started shaking my stomach and you
gave her a strong kick! She said it was the strongest she has felt in a long time. But you are growing and are doing great! And because you are growing, so am I! Here we are at 36 weeks:

38 Weeks

Well kiddo, we have made it to 38 weeks! You are still moving around quite a bit. You are most active between 1 am and 4 am. Luckily I don't mind being up at night! You are kicking and punching me pretty hard these days. I say it is because you want to get out. Well, you are more than welcome to come any time now! Your Daddy is getting more and more excited about meeting you every day. He loves you so much already, just like I do! We both have grown quite a bit over the past two weeks. Here we are at 38 weeks:

Every day I get closer to holding you in my arms. As scared as I am of the whole process and becoming a new mom, I am more excited to meet you and see your beautiful face for the first time. I can't even explain how much I love you already! Just waiting on you now, little one!

OH baby shower and maternity pictures

Well, some of your family from Rhode Island came and surprised us for your baby shower here in Ohio! It was so nice to see them!! Your Grammy kept talking to you and enjoyed feeling you move. She will be coming back soon to be there when you enter this world. As I've said before, you are already so loved!!!! The baby shower was amazing and we got some great gifts!

We have just about everything now...except for you! Daddy and I also went and got some pictures taken to remember this pregnancy. Here are a few of my favorites:

34 Weeks

We are getting close now, Little Duck! You are continuing to grow at a rapid rate now. It is quite evident as my stomach keeps getting larger.

But that makes me happy to know you are healthy and on track. The doctor seems to think we might be a week ahead of schedule. So we will see when you decide to make your appearance! You are still becoming more active! Now all your movements are starting to hurt. LOL! I always tell you to be nice to your Momma! I can't believe how close I am to meeting you and holding you in my arms. It is truly surreal. It is starting to make me nervous though! But as nervous as I am, I am more excited! I am so proud to be your Mom and love you so much!!!!

32 Weeks

32 weeks, kiddo! These weeks are starting to go by very quickly now! I set up your swing the other night. I want to be prepared just in case you decide to make your entrance early. Even your Daddy likes the swing. I think you will enjoy it! I certainly hope so! You are still pretty active these days. But I am told that will change soon as you run out of room. We are going to start going to the doctors more often now to make sure everything is going well. So far so good! Your Daddy is getting excited as well! Even last night he was talking to you and saying how he couldn't wait to meet you. We both love you so much and pray for you every night! You already are a huge blessing to us. Right now you are moving around and I can see my stomach moving. It always makes me smile. Here is a picture at 32 weeks:

Last week we went and had a 3d ultrasound done. You were very content with being face down and sleeping on your tummy. You also had your hand and arm over your eyes almost the entire time. You are so much like your Daddy! But I did get to see you yawn and try to put your fingers in your mouth. Here are a few pictures from it:

I think we still look good! Alright my sweet little one. I am going to try to get some sleep although you are usually awake around this time and move around a lot. Can't wait to hold you in my arms!!!

30 Weeks!

I can't believe we are already at 30 weeks!! I am so excited to meet you and so scared at the same time. I so badly want to be a great mother to you and failing is scary. But I know I am not perfect and will fail you sometimes, but Lord willing, I will do my best. But God will never fail you and me. So I know with His strength, I can do it. Even when I fail, I love you. That is one thing that will never change. I already love you so much! I pray for you every day. I pray that you will grow up to serve the Lord, love your family, respect those around you, and be the amazing person I already know that you are.

You are starting to move around on a schedule! You are the most active between midnight and 2 a.m. Yikes! But I can tell you are running out of room because your movements are very visible from the outside and very strong on the inside. I don't think you want to be in there much longer. But you have to so you can continue to develop and grow! I love talking to you. We have chats every day, you just don't know it. I always tell you good morning and that I love you and different things. You have already captured my heart. Well my baby, I need to try to get some sleep! I love you!!!!

28 Weeks

Well Little Duck, you are growing a lot now! It is crazy to see how much my stomach has grown in just 4 weeks. But I enjoy it because that means you are healthy and doing okay. You have been moving around a lot the past 2 weeks. Not sure what you are doing in there, but you seem to be exploring every inch of my belly. I can clearly see you moving now from the outside. It is fun to see where you are and to see you pushing my tummy out. Here we are at 28 weeks:

This was taken on the 4th of July. Your daddy and I watched the parade right in on front yard this year. At the beginning of the parade, fire trucks drove by blaring their horns and it woke you up and made you jump! I just kept rubbing my tummy so you knew everything was alright. I love you so much my sweet baby!

25 Weeks

We made our first road trip together this week, Little Duck! We went to Rhode Island to visit my side of the family for your first baby shower. They all loved feeling my belly to say hi to you and see if they could feel you move. Your Grandma, Grandpa, and Great Grandmother all got to feel you move!! You made them very happy! You got a lot of wonderful gifts from a lot of people who already love you and can't wait to meet you. Lord willingly, we will be making a trip out there at Christmas for everyone to actually meet you!!!! They can't wait! But this time Daddy will be with us. So it will be our first family road trip! 24 Weeks

We've made it to 24 weeks! The weeks are starting to go by so fast now! You are moving around so much now. I even got to see you kick from the outside. It was so cool! I still smile every time you move. You are truly our little miracle. And I love you so much already I can't even explain it. Here is what I looked like at 24 weeks with you:

I went to the doctor's the other day and she said that you are growing right on schedule and seem to be a very healthy, active baby! That's my kid! :) I talk to you every time you move now. I have been told that you are learning my voice and outside voices. For that reason, your Dad also likes to come and talk to you. You respond to his voice a lot. He loves it! As always, I am praying for you, my sweet little one. You are so special to me and your Dad and I know God has wonderful plan for you!

Daddy Got to Feel You!

Well on May 16th you were moving around a lot! I could feel you from the outside and told your Daddy to hurry up and come over and try to feel you too. After a minute or two you started making your presence known and gave Daddy a nice strong fist pump or kick! He loved it!!!!!! He kept smiling. You move a lot when you hear his voice. I love that you are already recognizing him. It is truly amazing! We both love you so much already and can't wait to hold you!!!!!!!

20 Weeks!

Well, we are halfway there my little one! I can't believe it. I am so excited to hold you and see your sweet little face. Here is what I looked like with you at this time:

You are moving around so much lately. It is amazing. And an awesome thing happened while I was laying in bed tonight...I felt you kick from the outside!!! This was the first time! I really hope your Daddy can feel you kick soon too. I know he will  love it. Even right now I can feel you moving your arms and legs inside my tummy. And I can't help but smile while you do it. I thank the Lord every day for giving you to us. You were prayed for before you were even created. And every day and night I pray for you. Not just for while you are in the womb but also that we will be good parents that raise you the way the Lord wants. The verse that always comes to mind when I think of you is 1 Samuel 1:27 "For this child I prayed; and the LORD hath given me my petition which I asked of him:" We want to raise you to love the Lord and want to live for Him. It is truly a joy to live for Him! You will see! I love you, Little Duck. More than you can possibly imagine.

Heard Your Heartbeat!

I got to hear your heart beating so quickly for the first time on February 29th...Leap Day! I was 10 weeks along that day. I was so excited I asked the nurse if I could go get your Dad from the waiting room so he could hear it too. When he heard it we both just smiled. It was amazing! It was the first time I truly realized you were there inside of me!

I'm Going to be a Mom!

Wow! I can't believe I am going to be a Mom! You were a wonderful early birthday present for me! I found out you were joining our family on Sunday, January 29th. I was really tired that day and stayed home from church. While your Dad was gone, I took a test and sure enough it was positive!

I was in shock! When your Dad came home, I couldn't even tell him, I just handed him the test. He couldn't stop smiling!! I was going to see your aunt, uncles, and cousins that weekend so I decided to tell them then. They were all excited as well!!! Right from the beginning you have been loved so much!

18 Weeks

We got to see you for the first time today, April 25th!!!! You are so cute already!

You are quite the little gymnast in there. You kept rolling over and crossing your legs. You didn't really want to sit still for pictures. That you get from your Dad. You also struck a pose for us flexing your little biceps. That is also so much like your Dad.

It was amazing to see you moving around and being so energetic. I couldn't stop smiling! When I saw you on the ultrasound for the first time a line from a song came to mind, "All at once everything looks different. Now that I see you." You already amaze me and I am so proud and honored to be your mother.

19 weeks

Well Little Duck, we are almost half way through this pregnancy! Even now I can feel you moving around inside of me. I never tire of it. It feels strange but exciting at the same time knowing you are growing. Your Daddy and I can't wait to meet you! Daddy wanted to be surprised so I have no idea if I am writing to my son or my daughter right now. But it doesn't even matter because I already love you so much! That is also why we decided to call you Little Duck. Your Daddy loved Darkwing Duck when he was younger (don't worry, he will introduce you to it.) He is called that by some of his friends. And since he is your father, we thought Little Duck would be perfect. Your grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins can't wait to meet you also. They are all anxiously awaiting your arrival in September. You are already so loved by your family and have been since the day we found out you were coming. You must be growing because I know I am!
